FUWANA (Fula Women Association of North America) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Maryland, USA, dedicated to empowering women and girls. We focus on social support, education, healthcare, economic development, and community engagement.
While FUWANA is a community of women who share the Fula language and culture, we welcome ALL women passionate about empowerment, social change, and community support.
Our members originate from Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, and Ivory Coast.
FUWANA is actively involved in:
- Agribusiness Projects – Supporting women in agriculture and entrepreneurship.
- Health Initiatives – Promoting healthcare awareness and access.
- Education Programs – Providing educational resources and scholarships.
- Environment & Social Protection – Addressing sustainability and community well-being.
- Community Engagement & Volunteering – Encouraging active participation in social causes.
